…When it comes to leaving us a legacy, I think these points sum up my husband’s life experience. Cary showed up every day of our children’s lives to be Dad to each of them, and God blessed him exceedingly and abundantly. I hope and pray my kids each caught this from him, and will pass these important lessons on to their children and grandchildren throughout many generations to come.
Legacy Lessons from the life of Cary Neal McMinn, Family Shepherd (A through T):
A. If you teach your children nothing else, teach them to love the Lord their God with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. If they know this, they will be blessed beyond measure, as will you. Of course, more is usually “caught” than “taught,” so modeling this with your life is truly the key to the teaching.

T. Though we fail our children, God will never fail us, or them. Our Heavenly father has only unconditional love and forgiveness for us, if we seek Him first and foremost. Our children need to experience this, too.
Parenting is an art, more than a science, and it takes daily practice and constant learning to improve. Parents are just sinners, raising sinners. There are overwhelming mistakes along the way, but thankfully the Lord covers a multitude of our sins if we seek Him. We need to entrust our lives, and our children’s lives, fully to Him….
